November Favourites

Considering my previous favourites was back in August, I thought it was about time that I should be doing another one. Besides, I find these fun to read - I always love finding out what people are enjoying every month. So I hope you enjoy finding out what I’ve been loving this month and maybe it’ll help you find some new favourites too!

Maybelline Fit me Matte + Poreless powder in 100 Translucent

It took me a while to love this, I’ve had it for quite a while but I was on-and-off using it but recently, I’ve been picking this up everyday. Although, previously I was using it alongside the Too Faced primed and poreless translucent powder, until I had 10% left and ended up breaking it. So instead of repurchasing that, I’ve found that this maybelline one works just as well for a fraction of the price. I almost feel like this is a really good dupe for the primed and poreless powder. Especially since it does exactly what it’s meant to - mattify and hiding those pores. I believe it does help my makeup to last all day but I tend to touch up or blot anyway because of my oily skin.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Ash Brown

I was really debating for a while whether or not to invest in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, since it’s so highly raved about but it really bugged me that people were saying it wouldn’t last very long. So, I didn’t really want to spend £15 on a brow pencil that would only last me about a month or so. I went for the NYX version instead and many people have compared this to the ABH one and I’ve heard so many people say they’re very very similar. This is actually my second one now, I believe the first pencil lasted me about 2-3 months, which i was quite impressed with. After a month of using it, I definitely knew I needed to get a back up. It’s something I enjoy using when I don’t want to get out my ABH dipbrow pomade and do full-out brows but I just want something natural. Plus, when waking up for a 9am lecture this really does help to cut down on time to quickly get my brows on fleek.

Dose of Colors Matte Lipstick in Brick

I can’t even begin to explain how much I love this shade. I feel like this is a shade of red I don’t own but I’m really glad that I now own it. The name really does represent it well, since it is a true “brick” red shade. I also quite like the formula of these liquid lipsticks, they last all day and they look great on too. They’re a bit tacky but that doesn’t bother me too much. I hope to get a blog post out soon comparing all my liquid lipsticks, so look out for that.

Colourpop Lippie Stix in Oh Snap

I really do love the formula of the Colourpop Lippie Stix. I can see myself wearing them a lot throughout the colder months since the matte formulas aren’t drying on my lips at all, so it’s really ideal and it doesn’t extenuate any dry patches I have on my lips. I’m pretty surprised that I’m deviating towards this shade recently, especially considering that I’ve been making most of the season and putting all the dark colours on my lips! This shade is such a lovely everyday shade, it’s quite subtle on my lips but still looks really pretty. I can see myself using this lipstick all year round! The only downside is that it doesn’t last very long on my lips, although I’m tempted to try it out with a lip liner to see if that helps.

Essie Nail Varnish in Wicked

This shade seems to always be on my nail lately. I’m not a huge fan of the Essie nail varnish formula since they peel off very easily and annoyingly, even when I use a base coat. This seems to be one of the only shades that doesn’t seem to do this. It’s a shame really since Essie has such a gorgeous shade range but I find myself going towards Barry M since their formula doesn’t peel easily. I get the impression that this shade goes really well with the DoC Lipstick, and although I don’t purposely match my nails and lips, I feel like they’re a nice match. The shade is a lovely red colour but I would say it leads towards a dark-browny red. So lovely for this time of year!

Eco Tools Mattifying Finish Brush

I wasn’t actually expecting to like this brush so much but I can’t stop grabbing it whenever I powder my face. Out of all the powder brushes I’ve used, this seems to deposit a good even amount of product to my face without it looking cakey. It sets my makeup very well and I would say it definitely mattifies my face. I really want to try out more brushes from this collection, I’ve been eyeing up the EcoTools Four Piece Beautiful Complexion Brush Set but it contains this brush, so it seems silly to have 2 of the same brush.

Hope you enjoyed reading my favourites, let me know what products you’ve been loving this month!
